Jeana- When you refer to literacy coaching, do you mean that there will be people who are out of the classroom, full time, who are responsible for a) making sure that teachers are teaching specific curricula in a specific way (coaching for compliance) or b) helping teachers think critically and thoughtfully about their teaching practices or c) giving teachers advice and suggestions on how to teach?
Once I know a bit more, I'd be happy to share my thoughts. I've had to do all of the aformentioned in different sites as a literacy coach, so once I know what your school's expectations for their literacy coach is, I can give more specific advice.
