Linking to the fluency discussion, I came across this blog, "Summertime Reading:To Compete or Not to Compete" by a Stenhouse Publishing guest blogger. The writer mentions a book by Thomas Newkirk - "The Art of Slow Reading". Here is a quote from the blog: Tom Newkirk argues in his new book, *The Art of Slow Reading*: “. . . *it has to do with the relationship we have with what we read, with the quality of attention that we bring to our reading, with the investment we are willing to make.” *(page 2) Here is the link: http://blog.stenhouse.com/archives/2012/05/23/summertime-reading-to-compete-or-not-compete/ _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list Mosaic@literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org
