I've heard Wordly Wise is good for vocabulary. I'm not super familiar with the program, but I think it has some spelling too (or either the teacher I know who uses it does spelling with it.) It goes from K through high school.

I have also used WTW but our school uses a traditional program, Steck Vaughn, which I am not sold on.It is way too easy for some (I teach 1st grade) and too hard for a few. That being said, I agree with the previous post about WTW ... if you don't spend a lot of time being sure the students understand why they're sorting the words the way they are, they're not really learning the concept for each level or sort. I've used WTW the last 2 years but this year I have 24 firsties and I dread the idea of all those word cards. When I do start using it (very soon) I'll start with one group at a time. I'm not familiar with Orton Gillingham other than hearing the name BUT, if anyone has a spelling program they are loving, I'd love to hear about it. My goal this year is to get a really good, sound (makes sense ) spelling program for our first grade. BTW I will also look into Word Journeys. Thank you!
