Hello, I am a Reading Specialist at a 5-8 middle school. We're looking at selecting a spelling program and I was wondering if anyone could let me know what programs they have found to be successful. I've also had difficulty finding research do spelling and word study at the Middle School level. I personally use a mixture of commonly used "spelling demons" and a watered down Words Their Way in my 7th grade class. Is there anyone else out there who has made WTW work at the Middle School level? The fifth grade teachers really want something that requires the least amount of prep on their part and something with Workbooks. I know there are workbooks for WTW. Could anyone give me feedback on these? I'd appreciate any feedback and research you could offer.
