Blue scores are not commensurate even between different corpora in the same 
translation direction. Bleu is really only comparable for different systems or 
system variants on the exact same data.

In the case of the same corpus in two directions, an imperfect analogy might be 
gas mileage between two different cities. No matter how consistently you drove, 
you wouldn't expect the exact same gasoline usage driving from city A to city B 
as in the other direction, (especially if one direction is more uphill than the 
other).
