1) Research Associate in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (application deadline: 30/09/2021). We welcome applications for a postdoctoral Research Associate position in the area of natural language processing and machine learning, and more specifically on novel methods for detection and analysis of vaccine misinformation. The research focus will be on explainable deep learning methods for analysis of online disinformation, in line with the EPSRC-funded project “eXplainable AI Methods for Categorisation and Analysis of COVID-19 Vaccine Disinformation and Online Debates” and the H2020 EU-funded SoBigData++ research infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in this topic and in writing high-quality research papers. The main focus of the post-holder will be developing deep learning methods for analysis and detection of multilingual misinformation, in line with the European project “Irish EDMO Hub”. The post holder will carry out the studies on real-world data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media platforms in scope of the project.
