Hi

I am currently learning python and was trying to stream my raspberry
pi picamera to a port, like an IP camera. However on the client side
I need to run the stream through vlc or mplayer. Can anyone point me
in the direction of how to stream my picamera through an ip:port, as
it is done in motion, without the need of the client side to need
another program to interpret the data please?

Regards

Have you considered installing Motion on your Pi? I've seen people do this
with some success...

Yes. I have been using motionpie - brilliant implementation of motion on the
pi. But my reason for doing it separately is purely to understand how to
program. But if I get something working for as I want it, brilliant.
