Making motion use multiple threads by default would be a good idea.

Hello folks,
I'm toying a simple motion detector, using Logitech C170 webcam (on a
Raspberry Pi B+, running the latest Raspbian).
Each time I call the fswebcam command, the image from webcam will be
captured, so I assume it's working properly.
Now what I want to do is every time the webcam detects movement, a "Rick
Roll" video will be played immediately. Then if the webcam doesn't detect
any movement for a certain time, then the video player will be closed.
Here's my complete motion.conf:
http://pastebin.com/Yc4uDX3S
Somehow the setting doesn't work as expected, because I have to make some
movements in front of the webcam for about 10 secs until the video is
played.
How to fix this? Thank you.

I've just started using motion myself, so I'm not an expert, but I would
change the following in your config:
1. minimum_frame_time 0
2. threshold 500
3. pre_capture 0
And that should make it more responsive. I don't know about 10 seconds
faster, but it should help.
Cheers,
-zach

What specifically are you wanting threaded? Are you seeing significant time
in decoding or detection that would warrant trying to split those
operations up into smaller threaded pieces?

I'm not having any issues, but I was told by Tosiara that using extpipe
greatly increases performance because it forces motion to use multiple
threads. If that is true it seemed like it would be a good idea to have
motion use multiple threads by default.
