Looks like possibly two different things happening.

1. You may want to check the version of ffmpeg installed. It looks
really old or was found in the path by configure but not make. You can
use the configure option of --with-ffmpeg and specify the path. The
location has changed many times so if ffmpeg / libav it may need some
help in finding the newer version.

2. The SDL option only supports 1.5(I think) and not the current SDL
lib. You can turn this off via the configure option --without-sdl to
validate it works. Then the library would need to be installed if you
really want this option.

It looks like you might have installed multiple versions of ffmpeg and
you will need to specify the directory of the version that you want to
use. I'd guess that you built ffmpeg from source (ffmpeg_build) and
that this is the location that you'd want to specify. You can also
refer to the documentation of the option within this link which is
mostly accurate with respect to the configure options:
http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/MotionGuideOneLargeDocument#Configure_Script

There is also a version of the guide in your source code.
