2 doesn?t seem a particularly high priority to me given that the camera works
with motion using rtsp (which does support digest auth), but I may have missed
something.

Hi all,
Not really sure how MrDave plans to manage commits going forward, but here?s an
interesting (to me at least) one that I?d welcome any comments on:
https://github.com/jogu/motion/commit/cdd8b988fb08a486e98da5516d7faaf4a3b9f542
(There?s a few other commits in my repo too,
https://github.com/jogu/motion/commits/master but most of the others are just
simple bug fixes, but if anyone spots anything odd in those do let me know.)
Cheers
Joseph

Kenneth,
the was suggestion to use libmicrohttpd which seems a good choice and is
really not too heavy for motion:

That's right, it's not a big issue but I think two logging changes are
required:
1. Hack the HTTP code to warn if it receives a request for digest
authentication.
2. Do not start trying to read images if a 401 is received after sending
the Authorization header.
The HTTP code sounds beyond hope so I digest can be sorted when the HTTP
code is ejected in place of a library; I assume any modern good library
would support Digest.
