Hi,

I can't seem to find anything obvious on this.
I've just "upgraded" from Kenneth's website to the Github version: I've
been running the same setup for 2+ years, but I just got myself a new
hikvision cam which streams using h264.

I've had to rewrite all my thread config files and the last thing I seem
stuck with is the streaming part.

I've added "stream_port 808x" to all cams, and I've added
"webcontrol_localhost off", yet I can only see the stream on the computer
running motion and only if I use 127.0.0.1:808x
If I use the computer's IP address, I get a [IP] refused to connect.

Any idea?

Thanks
Laurent

If you want to access stream from other hosts set "stream_localhost off"
Webcontrol option is to accessing motion's web server

Thanks, that's exactly what I was after :)

I am trying to connect a couple of Jooan cameras to motion on a FreeBSD
server. I set the netcam_url to
rtsp://10.1.1.55/user=admin_password=_channel=1_stream=0.sdp (works in
VLC), but I get an "invalid netcam_url" error.

motion was installed from ports with the ffmpeg option enabled. The
installed version is 3.2.12, but I noticed that 3.4 is the recommended
version on the website.

I've read conflicting comments online about motion working and not
working with RTSP and MPEG, but none of them seem to mention which
version they are referring to.

At this point I'm not sure if my problem is that I need a newer version,
different compile-time flags or that the feature simply does not exist yet.

I am not adverse to custom compiling if that is what is needed and have
built FreeBSD ports in the past if the current port maintainer (listed
as [email protected]) does not have time to update it to the newest version.

~Doug

Are you sure the stream url is correct?
You are missing "?" in your request which separates request path and
parameters, like:

http://server:port/path?param=1&param2=2

But your url contains no "?" while it has "=" symbols. Looks strange. Maybe
it should look like this:

rtsp://10.1.1.55/?user=admin_password=_channel=1_stream=0.sdp
