Hello, does anyone have experience with working with the RaspberryPi camera
board and Motion? I was wondering is it best to install with apt packages ?
apt-get install motion or via deb packages??

Thanks, Adam.?

In my opinion, it is better to use the release deb packages.? The reason
is that if you use the apt package, you will not be able to use the MMAL
libs/methods and must use the V4L2 module to install it as a V4L2
device.? If you the debs, they were built on an actual pi and allow you
to use either option.

The reason for this is because of how Raspbian packages together the
Motion application.? In that process, the MMAL libs are not available
and therefore, Motion is built without MMAL support in apt.
