Hi guys.? Strange problem here.? I'm running Motion on a Raspberry Pi
with Ubuntu (Mate). I have three network cams, each in a separate thread
(no cameras in the main thread).

The problem is, if I specify any of the /thread/ entries in the main
*motion.conf* file, motion will not run.? It appears to start, but then
just... disappears.? Nothing is written to the motion log nor the
syslog.? This is what I see when I try to run it with at least one
thread enabled:

*david@david-desktop:~$ sudo motion**
**[22181184] [NTC] [ALL] conf_load: Processing thread 0 - config file
/etc/motion/motion.conf**
**[22181184] [NTC] [ALL] config_thread: Processing config file
/etc/motion/motionPatio.conf**
**[22181184] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Motion 3.2.12+git20140228
Started with SDL support**
**[22181184] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Logging to file
(/var/log/motion/motion.log)**
**david@david-desktop:~$ **
*

I can remove the /thread/ directive in motion.conf, and motion will run
fine (of course without any purpose).? I can also copy all of the stuff
from the *motionPatio.conf *config file into the main thread and it will
also run fine, but then I can't enable the other two cameras.

Not sure how to proceed here.? Has anyone else seen this problem?

David

Dear motion-user,

I have a question about the motion configuration. I have a configuration to
capture events, but after storing 999 events the capturing seems to stop. Is
there a way to configure the motion configuration to store files for events
greater than 999?

Kind regards,

Ruud Ghielen
