Also,
This link has worked well
<https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-webcam-server/> for me when I set up a
Pi for motion, but it is a little out of date. Part of that simple
walk-through provides this link
<https://github.com/Motion-Project/motion/releases/download/release-4.2.2/pi_buster_motion_4.2.2-1_armhf.deb>
for downloading *a motion deb file.* I tried variating the text to get the
4.3.0 version, assuming it would follow the pattern, but I was not
successful. Does anyone know if there is a *4.3.0 .deb package* out there
to download? This would be perfect.
Thank you,
Mike Sims

Many thanks for the quick reply. In my setup the area which sees the
lightswitch is about 1% only. But I will experiment with this.

I do not think so, I was just wondering if I am looking e.g. on an outdate
webpage for announcements, because the project has e.g. decided to announce
the new versions in a different way.

I think there are only source packages for 4.3.0, whereas I find many binary
packages for 4.2.2:
https://github.com/Motion-Project/motion/releases/
I do not know the reason for that, I would wait until Debian updated their
package, it seems they are aware of the new release
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/motion
