Hi,
I'm new to use Motion software and I need to ask
you some questions, about Motion:
1 -how and where Motion store the data received from a Pi Camera ( in my
case ) ?
2 - 'd like to understand the way I can get the data produced using Motion
with
a Pi Camera, to store them into a Django database.
In particular where are stored data as for example the photos ( or videos )
the time a photo has been done, and others parameters related ?
3 - Does exist a printed book or a tutorial about Motion software
except for the official documentation of the web site, and could you suggest
me some tutorial or useful motion guide ?
Thank you in advance if someone could help me
or suggest me a solution .
Best wishes
Daniele

1 - Motion stores everything wherever you tell it to.? There are
different configuration parameters for storing snapshots and videos.
It's very configurable.
2 - The "data" when a snapshot or video is produced is available when
the event happens in the form of variables.? You can write some or all
of these variables to a database if you wish.? There is a database
section of the configuration files.
3 - I don't know of any tutorials.? Maybe someone else listening can
help with that.

You can see that in motion.conf file. You can edit this file with "sudo
nano /etc/motion/motion.conf"
You can define a directory to use to store videos, photos and logs. Be sure
to give permissions to write for this directory.
