What is the latest version of Motion for RPi or Odroid? The APT repo
only has 4.0.1 and I know there are later versions available, but I
wasn't sue if they were compatible with the RPi.

Yes the version from apt is very old, perhaps still useful for detecting
dinosaurs :)
I'm using 4.4.0 which I installed using gdebi from the provided .deb files.
I usually go with the latest release/stable version and haven't had any
problems on my raspberry pis.
