I think the warning may originate from FFmpeg. In my own setup, just using 
ffmpeg/ffplay, I also get a "invalid frame dimension 0x0" error when starting 
the program. It's not a problem and the video stream plays fine.

My problem is the playback is about 2 FPS while with motion it's 25 FPS.

I'm not sure what would cause that.? I do not experience that situation 
with my cameras.? Possibly something with the capture_rate?
