I don't know whether this is "Motion" related.
I keep on getting a warning message in EMACSthat "XF86WebCam" is undefined.
How can I stop this happening?

something in your emacs configs is specifying that. try the magical
"grep -nri xf86webcam *" in your home directory (or use ripgrep, etc.)
(that error has nothing to directly to do with Motion fwiw)
