We've just returned from a week in Lutsen. The birds were the ones one
would expect in the area along with some waves of warblers, hawks
following the shore, a few night hawks and cedar waxwings after insects
out over the water. The surprising sightings to me were a group of 26
common mergansers on the lake and 2 juncoes picking seeds with the song
sparrows (winter must be on its way!).
