Our backyard pond is about 3/4 open water and has attracted dozens of =
mallards and geese. The surprise of the morning was a pair of pintail =
that remained about half an hour. This was the first time we have seen =
them in the pond. The first male red-winged blackbird showed up about =
the same time, and the yellow variant house finch was back at the =
feeder.
