I just got back from leading a MOU trip in the Frontenac area. The =
weather was warm and migration was in full swing! We birded Villa Marie, =
Sandy Pt. and Hok Si La Park. I led a group of 20 birders to these areas =
and we had a great time! I thank Mark Ochs and Ron Erpelding for =
spotting a lot of the birds!! We saw a total of 100 species in 7 hours =
of birding. The group saw 20 species of warblers for the day!

Here's the highlights of the MOU trip:

Virginia Rail: Sandy Pt. * St. Paul Audubon Society found the rails =
originally and we thank them for sharing thier sightings
Sora Rail: Sandy Pt.
Solitary Sandpipers: Several birds at Sandy Pt.=20
Caspian Terns: Lake Pepin
Barred Owl: Calling at Hok Si La Park
7 species of Woodpeckers!
Olive-sided Flycatcher: Marshy area along the road leading you to the =
Villa Marie.
Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-headed Vireo
Marsh Wren at Sandy Pt.
20 Species of Warblers (Blue-winged, Golden-winged, Tenn - a lot!, =
Orange-cr, Nashville, Parula, Yellow, Cape May, Yellow-rumped, Blk-thr. =
Green, Blackburnian, Palm, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Black & White, =
Redstart, Ovenbird, N. Waterthrush, C. Yellowthroat, and Wilson's)

Our MOU group in the morning hours birded a lot with the St. Paul =
Audubon Society. I have some nice pictures of all of us at the end of =
Sandy Pt. looking at the rails. (50 birders scanning at the rails) Other =
sightings include a Stripe Skunk in the back field of the Villa Marie, =
spring flowers in full bloom in the woods, Bald Eagle nest with young at =
Sandy Pt. Some how we escaped the rains and had a nice warm afternoon =
and a lot of laughs!
