************************ Plans for the 2006 Spring Boreal Birding Festival in Grand Marais, Minnesota are rapidly coming together. This years festival will be the 9th annual. Spring is an explosion of life in the North over 150 bird species have been spotted during the events history! Recently, a completely new web site was developed to help potential participants understand the array of opportunities that are included during the three-day experience. Naturally, morning field trips led be highly experienced birders are at the festivals core. Trips explore the Lake Superior shoreline, head inland to birch and maple forests, and to inland lakes/streams. Complementing morning field trips are three afternoon workshops (including northern wildflowers and a palegic outing) as well as two featured evening programs. The Ravens Gift with artist Kelly Dupre will be hosted at the Sivertson Art Gallery Friday evening. Owls of the North with Gail Buhl from Wolf Ridge ELC will feature three live owls on Saturday night.
