Yesterday at dawn Dave Grosshuesch and I found three Spruce Grouse on Highway 1 south of the Spruce Road. A male and female were 3 miles south of the Spruce Road, and another male was 1.2 miles south of the Spruce Road. The birds were picking grit and salt off the roadway.
