Cabin fever? The new tropical aviary exhibit at Como Zoo is really pretty cool. Well, hot and humid, actually. They don't have the names of the birds posted anywhere, but I did manage to identify the following: Paradise Tanager Turquoise Tanager Silver-beaked Tanager Bay-headed Tanager Blue-gray Tanager Burnished-buff Tanager Red-capped Cardinal Blue Dacnis (male and female) Red-legged Honeycreeper Yellow-rumped Cacique Saffron Finch Yellow-throated Euphonia Probably some others I'm forgetting It will be interesting to see how these birds get along and adapt. This will be a work in progress for a while I imagine. I saw no ground dwelling birds, but there were several small lizards scurrying about as well. Bring your binoculars - keep them very warm in your car or they will fog up big time when you enter the aviary.
