8/15/07 From approx. 7:00-8:00 pm, while enjoying a youth soccer game in Morgan Park, Duluth, at least 100 to 200 nighthawks moved through the area. I have witnessed many such movements while taking in soccer games at this time of year. What made tonights unique was how actively the birds were foraging within the city blocks. The nighthawks were not just flying over, they were flying IN the neighbordhood. They are spectacular aerialists, twisting, turning, wheeling about while flashing there white wing patches.
