A SAY'S PHOEBE was found on the 25th by Kim Eckert along the beach at Park Point, near the 16th Street access. The bird was relocated on the morning of the 26th, but has not been seen since. On the morning of the 21st Kim found a SABINE?S GULL out from the Sky Harbor Airport, and a group of three was seen later in the day. On the 23rd, Dave and Lars Benson reported a dark morph POMARINE JAEGER, an adult winter LITTLE GULL, a WESTERN GREBE, and a probable Great Black-backed Gull at 22nd Street on Park Point. Peder Svingen found a first-cycle FRANKLIN?S GULL on the 26th near the airport. Steve and Deb Falkowski found a BLACK SCOTER on the bay side of Park Point on the 22nd. A juvenile and adult PARASITIC JAEGER, a second-cycle LESSER-BLACK-BACKED GULL, and a GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL were seen during Mike Hendrickson's Lake Superior boat trip on the 22nd. The jaegers were seen in Wisconsin waters. Birders at Wisconsin Point also reported a juvenile and adult PARASITIC JAEGER and a juvenile POMARINE JAEGER over the weekend, as well as a SABINE?S GULL, two WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, and a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO. Doug Kieser saw an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL on the Minnesota side of the Superior Entry on the 22nd. A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE was seen on the 23rd on Lake Superior about a block east of the Lakewood Pumping Station, at a small rest area. Deb Falkowski saw a ROSS'S GOOSE and four CACKLING GEESE on the 24th at the Mesabi Range College in Virginia. A flock of 105 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS was seen on the 26th in Two Harbors. Another flock of 96 was seen by Lars Benson and others at Park Point at about the same time. BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen on the 22nd at Hawk Ridge and on the 26th in Knife River. Dory Spence and others saw a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO in Cook County on the 23rd, along the bike trail in Schroeder just west of the Temperance River Road. Christine Olson found a BOREAL CHICKADEE on the 24th at Longyear Lake in downtown Chisholm. Don Kienholz had two BOREAL CHICKADEES in his yard along the Martin Road in Duluth on the 23rd, and he saw three GRAY JAYS on the 24th at Duluth's Leif Erikson Park. Chris Mansfield found a GRAY JAY on the 25th along the lakewalk at 24th Avenue East, as well as a VESPER SPARROW. Sharon Lind saw a GRAY JAY on the 26th at Lighthouse Point in Two Harbors. Dave Grosshuesch saw a BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER on the 27th west of the main overlook at Hawk Ridge. Nearly 200 BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEES have been banded in the past five days, suggesting a major irruption of this species. More than 5,400 raptors were counted on the 22nd and about 6,000 were seen on the 25th. Single SWAINSON'S HAWKS were seen on both days, and Frank Nicoletti banded a light morph juvenile nearby on the 24th. A late COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen on the 22nd.
