Oops, that should read WEST half of Vadnais! Guess I'm direction challenged! -----Original Message----- From: mou-net-bounces at moumn.org [mailto:mou-net-bounces at moumn.org]On Behalf Of Gail Wieberdink Sent: Sunday, April 20, 2008 3:22 PM To: MOU Subject: [mou] Lake Vadnais
The east half of Lake Vadnais along Rice Street is now completely open. There were hundreds of cormorants dotting the lake along with a smaller number of pelicans. Also present in small numbers were redheads, scaup and loons along with the usual mallards and Canada geese. At the end of the lake along Vadnais Blvd. there were some Forster's terns and a couple horned grebes. Lake Gervais had quite a number of loons along the edges of the ice today but most of the common mergansers appear to have flown on. There were more buffleheads than previously. Much of the lake is still iced over. There were 3 eagles sitting on the ice out in the middle. Gail Wieberdink -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
