I went down to Rush River this evening to try for the Summer Tanager reported
earlier today by Bob Dunlap and struck out. I ran into the Martins and Bob
Williams there and they had not seen the bird either. The area was pretty
quiet birdwise with the only highlights for me being a calling Barred Owl and a
FOY Grey Catbird.

On the way home I stopped at dusk at the Redhead WPA along Hwy 25 just across
from Lake Washington. There was an American Bittern calling in the marsh about
100 yards down the trail that starts at the gate of the parking area. I also
heard at least three woodcock calling and there were numerous snipe winnowing
overhead.
