On the way back from the Bass Ponds this morning a flock of White-winged Crossbills flew overhead.
I looked across the water of the middle pond and saw a large yellow blob sitting in the Russian Olive trees along the shore. I back tracked through the woods and flushed two immature Black-crowned Night-Herons. The chest and breast color was that of butter. I don't think I have ever seen that in a night-heron.
