* Blue Hill Trail, Sherburne Refuge - increased numbers of White-winged Crossbills (had at least 35 in a flock this morning, birder reported 80 recently) - Ruffed Grouse, Golden-Crowned Kinglets (have had them in the conifers 11 of 12 months over last five years), single Flicker - again could not refind the BB Woodpeckers.
* Ann Lake/Sand Dunes - Townsend's Solitaire very conspicuous on the tops of the deciduous trees to the right/west of the parking lot - walk in a bit for the best looks. Few Crossbills flying around, not as easy to see as on Blue Hill. Goshawk reported earlier this week. Wear your orange, numerous hunters present. Good birding to all!
