Thanks, Karen.

To be a bit more specific, Cty. 21 is Central Avenue in Ely. If you're coming
into Ely from Tower on Hwy. 169, turn right on Central Avenue (first stoplight)
and drive through town heading south. Lookout Ridge Road is at the top of the
hill on your left as you pass the golf course.

If you're coming up from Silver Bay on Hwy. 1, turn left when you come to the
Sheridan Street/Hwy. 169 stop sign (Ely's main drag) and drive most of the way
through town, taking a left on Central (third and final stoplight from).

I just received a call from the group of Indiana/Illinois/Michigan/Wisconsin
birders I have been birding with yesterday and today indicating they just found
a Townsend's Solitaire in Ely.

This was about 1:45 PM just after I left them to head home (!).

It was located just off Cty Rd 21. It was on Lookout Ridge Road on the top of
the hill.

We also had excellent looks at a hoary redpoll feeding under a feeder with many
pine grosbeaks in McKinley, Mn (off county hwy 135 between Gilbert and Biwabik)
