They have been there for the last week or so. They roost in some restored wetlands just south and west of the croplands you described in your post. It's pretty deafening just before dawn as they awaken. I actually estimate that numbers are beginning to decline some from where they were a week ago.

An American bittern was sky-pointing along CR45 on the Glacial Ridge property Saturday afternoon. FOS for me.
