April 26
Lake Byllesby
11:00 a.m.

Two alternate Eared Grebes with 4 Horned Grebes in main lake. In past 10 years,
this is only the second time I've seen EAGR at Byllesby and only the third time
I've sen them in Dakota. They were all sleeping, but pointy heads of the EAGRs
were the tip off. They eventually extended their heads to reveal black heads
and golden ear tufts.

The rain has caused all but only a few shorebirds to remain at the west end.
Three Semipalmated Plovers and a few Bonaparte's Gulls also were present.
