I have a question that none of my books (or the internet) can answer, so I'm hoping that perhaps some of you may be able to help me! =)
Kingfishers have syndactyly feet, meaning that while three of their toes face forward, but the two outside toes are fused together. I am wondering what the purpose for this is? Does anyone have an idea? Thanks!
