Late this morning I found two Red-necked Phalaropes along with a single Wilson's Phalarope at the Nicollet sewage ponds. All three birds were swimming near the southern edge of the southernmost pond.

The WMA one mile north of the town of Nicollet on the east side of Hwy. 111 has virtually no shorebird habitat. The two ponds which had been good last fall and this spring are completely dry with no water present. The more northern of the two might be good for Buff-breasted Sandpipers, but that's about it.
