November 21, 2009 Led a field trip at the Wilkie Unit of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge this afternoon. There were over 100 Tundra Swans on Fisher Lake and by sunset over 500 Ducks had settled in on Fisher lake for the night. A Northern Shrike was observed at the SE corner of Blue lake and pond at the Blue Lake Water Treatment plant had a nice mix of waterfowl. Here are some of the birds we observed today.
