Subject: Crow Wing & Aitkin Counties No,Hawk Owls


    Steve & Jo Blanich & Warren Nelson observed 4 Northern Hawk Owls today, In 
Crow Wing County, one was seen west of Deerwood &  500 ft. west of the Hwy. 210 
& Co. Rd. 32 intersection.  This is near the location reported Dec. 10th. In 
Aitkin County, one was seen on Co. Rd. 1 north of Aitkin after crossing the 
diversion ditch & 1/4 mile after leaving the blacktop.  A 3rd  was seen 5 miles 
north of Palisade on Co. Rd. 5, & the 4th  was also on Co. Rd. 5, 0.7 miles 
south of Co. Rd. 232.  A Great Gray Owl was seen on Co. Rd. 18 three miles west 
of the Co. Rd. 5 interesection.  Also seen were  Bald Eagle, Rough-legged 
Hawks, Northern Shrike, Gray Jays, redpolls.  Coming to a feeder near Palisade
