Birders:
Below is the link to the photo journal for the July 10 SFBC field trip to
Touch the Sky Prairie and Blue Mounds State Park in Minnesota, and Hidden
Bridge Nature Area in Iowa.
As we left Touch the Sky, nearly a hundred folks arrived for a day of nature
photography instruction and experience.
Todd will send a species list later.
I included some butterflies, as they were a beautiful asset to the trip, and
one was the rare Regal Fritillary, of which were all over the prairie
refuge.
On another topic, the SF feeders have two sets of fledged Baltimore Orioles,
and their parents, for a total of eight orioles. A special, rare treat today
was a fledged Red-Breasted Nuthatch. This was the earliest ever at the
feeders, and a possible indication of breeding in the area.
