Spent time on Crane for opening fishing and was able to do a lot of hiking and
birding. Somewhat slow, but a couple surprises for me as well. Nine warbler
sp. with N. Parulas, BLack-throated Greens, Yellow-rumps and Pine most
abundant. No Hermit Thrushes but a great look and song from a Wood Thrush. No
Red-eyed Verios but a singing Philidelphia. Maybe that's the norm but I didn't
expect them. We tallied 44 species including an E.W. Pewee, Sp. Sandpiper,
Coopers Hawk, Hummingbirds and Least Flycatcher.
Now I am getting ready for my trip to Gambell, AK on Friday. That sure came
quick!

Chris
