This afternoon I had a nice look at a Least Bittern in the large cattail marsh in Dybsand WMA in Renville County. This WMA is south of Hwy 212 on county road 12 at 810th Ave. The bird was seen right in the middle of the stretch of 810th that cuts through the marsh. Both Sora and Virginia rails, and a large colony of Yellow-Headed Blackbirds were present as well. In a WPA nearby I had close up views of newly hatched American Coots.
