Northern flickers were abundant at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and
environs today.  I counted 38 birds on the refuge and another 22 just northwest
of the refuge.

Eastern bluebirds are also making a good push through the area.  Where the
corners of Sherburne, Benton & Mille Lacs Counties meet, there was a flock of
14 bluebirds, a mile down the road (Mille Lacs Co) was another small flock of 8
bluebirds and then west down the road 3 miles in Benton County, there were
bluebirds perched on power lines for nearly a mile - another 10 birds.
