At the Old Cedar Ave Bridge viewing platform (off the trail that goes west) my
friend and I saw a very small gull come up out of the lilly pads, behind the
reeds (close to the opposite shore). I thought at first that it might be a tern
- but it had a squared off tail. We only had a quick look - but it had black
wing tips, a white squarish tail a darkish gray mantle and the impression of a
short bill. Would love to have a "gull expert" re-find and diagnose this bird.
