2012 Nebraska Prairie Chicken Festival The first annual 2012 Nebraska Prairie Chicken Festival, April 20-22, will celebrate both the Greater Prairie Chicken and Sharp-tailed Grouse species, the grasslands they inhabit and the culture that surrounds them. The hosts, Calamus Outfitters and the Gracie Creek Landowners, have arranged a wonderful lineup of birding excursions, field trips and speakers that will cover a wide range of topics including prairie grouse habitat and management, conservation and policy, native butterflies, citizen science, state and national conservation programs and more! Special presentations and performances include the traditional prairie chicken dance by professional Native American dancer/storyteller Garan Coons and the stunning photography of conservation photographer Michael Forsberg. Additional sponsors of the event include World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Nebraska and Nebraska Bird Partnership. To learn more about the festival and for registration information visit _www.calamusoutfitters.com_ (http://www.calamusoutfitters.com/) or call 308-346-4697.
