There was a nice variety of shorebirds in the flooded fields south of 180th
Street east of the marsh (just west of Goodwin Ave.)
Black-bellied Plover 6
Killdeer 2
Spotted Sandpiper 2
Ruddy Turnstone 3
Semipalmated Sandpiper 50
Least Sandpiper 25
Pectoral Sandpiper 10
Short-billed Dowitcher 2
Wilson's Phalarope 4
It looked as though this spot could remain productive for a few days.
There was quite a bit of activity in the marsh as well, with a flock of Black
Terns, and vocal Soras, Virginia Rail, and Yellow-headed Blackbirds.
I started at the Jirik sod farm, but there were no shorebirds present there.
