This afternoon at about 3pm., I saw an adult great black-backed gull mixed in
with a long line of gulls on Lake Harriet in Mpls. I watched it for about 20
minutes or so, and then it disappeared.
Chet Meyers called me later, after sunset, to report that he saw the great
blacked-backed gull (along with 2 lesser black-backed gulls and the glaucous
gull) standing on an ice shelf on Lake of the Isles. What’s after the trifecta?
'
The great blacked back gull flew off after a while.
