I birded the river starting at downtown Elk River and was surprised to hear
then see flying off a Killdeer. There was also a robin behind the empty bank
building. Other birds seen in the river were Trumpeter Swans, 50+, Common
Mergansers 6, Common Goldeneyes 50+, and mallards. I moved to Otsego Co.
Park and saw at least 16 more robins on the Elk River side of the river, a
cackling goose with several Canada geese, and likely 100 or more trumpeters
as well as more goldeneyes and mallards.
