While birding at Brighton Beach this morning, I found a distant Red-necked Grebe, as well as a drake American Wigeon flying by with a group of Mallards. It is exciting to see the birds moving through the area, even through the recently-fallen snow! I think today and especially tomorrow could be fantastic days for hawkwatching throughout the Twin Ports area. Clearer skies tomorrow, with calmer (not-north) winds, and a brief warming of temperatures before snow comes through later this week.
Here is a picture of the Red-necked Grebe from this morning. This bird was not visible to the naked eye. http://www.pbase.com/image/149689141 And the brief eBird list... http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S13756674 Good birding, Erik Bruhnke Duluth, MN -- *NATURALLY AVIAN* - Birding Tours and Bird Photography birdf...@gmail.com (e-mail) www.naturallyavian.com (birding tours) www.pbase.com/birdfedr (photos) www.facebook.com/NaturallyAvian (facebook) ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
