At 8:30 this am, I saw the Blue-winged x Cinnamon Teal hybrid reported
yesterday in a field pond, viewed on the west side of Hwy 56, south of
Randolph, across from 56/Scotia Trail.

At the Goodhue boat landing, there were 7 Pied-billed Grebes, 1 Bufflehead
pair, many A. Coots, and a Northern Harrier. Scotia Trail, which leads to the
boat landing, is in very poor condition.

At Lakeside Cemetery, I met up with Susan Schumacher. She spotted a Willet and
an Avocet, also reported yesterday by Connie Brunell, at the lookout a short
distance west of the cemetery, accessed from a trail. The Avocet was moving
behind a thick flock of about 30 White Pelicans, so we had just a few clear
views of the bird. I hope to try for a better look when the weather improves.
We also saw fairly large flocks of a variety of duck species, plus 1 Greater
Yellow-legs, Golden-crowned Kinglets and Song Sparrows. Many N. Flickers were
flying through Lake Byllesby Regional Park.
