I had a junco hit my office window today. It was laying outside on its side quivering with its eyes closed. I had read on the list serve to hold them and keep them warm. I did this for about 15 minutes. At one point it opened its eyes and lifted its head so I thought it hadn't broken its neck. Then it went limp again. I brought it in the house and nestled it in dishtowels and put it in a closed box. I checked on it after an hour and thought it had died because it was still and its eyes were wide open but it was just watching me. After 2 hours I went out on the front step and opened the box and removed the towel that was covering it and it flew off to the woods! Amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge birders. I would never have believed he was going to live after the first 15 minutes!
