I was out today doing some guiding with a photographer from New Jersey. Highlights:
3 Great Gray Owls ( 2 on McDavitt Rd and 1 on Stone Lake Rd ) 1 Black-backed Woodpecker ( Admiral Rd ) 6 Sharp-tailed Grouse ( Poplar Rd south of CR 52 ) 3 Common Redpolls ( Admiral Rd flying over head ) Drove on my own to WI PT and ran into Peder Svingen, Larry & Jan Kraemer. Highlights: 2 Great Black-backed Gulls ( 1-2 cycles ) 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls ( 1 adult, 2 sub adults and 1st cycle ) 3 Glaucous Gulls ( 2 first cycle and 1 2nd cycle ) 5 Thayer's Gulls ( 3 first cycles, 2 third cycles ) 1 Iceland Gull ( 1 first cycle ) Fun day in a cold and rain!
